Nowadays as the image of Pakhtun appeared to the world as terrorist and radical Muslims because of the Taliban. It is a fact that Taliban are Pakhtun but all Pakhtun are not Taliban majority of Pakhtun are against the ideology of Taliban they consider Taliban as a curse for Pakhtun because of them their image appeared as terrorist and fundamentalist to the whole world .The Taliban is a conspiracy which is hatched against Pakhtun on a very large scale because Pakhtun will never become like the nowadays Taliban .The conspiracy of Taliban is tantamount to the genocide of Pakhtun. Even the Taliban also killed many Pakhtun because the assist the alliance forces in Afghanistan. Now the Pakhtun are struggling to remove this image from their name and show the true face of Pakhtun to the world.
The Pakhtun constitute an estimated 38% of the population of Afghanistan, and as such are the ethnic majority. Though their origin is unclear, their legends say that they are the descendants of Afghana, grandson of King Saul. Most scholars, however, believe that the Pakhtun probably arose from a mixture of ancient and subsequent invaders. Pakhtun are of medium height, with strong, straight noses, black hair, and dark eyes; although there is a high incidence of blue, green, and gray eyes.
The Pakhtun has played an important role in the history of their region. From their community have come Muslim rulers, administrators, and soldiers. While many of them have moved out of the highlands in search of an easier life in the plains, their mountainous homeland continues to be their stronghold of strength and freedom. The Pakhtun are said to be elegant, colorfully attired, hospitable, considerate, fierce in hatred, and kind in friendship. Though very dedicated to their religious beliefs, they are also fond of pleasure. They are known for their marksmanship and their love of honor.
Pushtun are very conservative people by nature they do not obey the law of the land or Islamic shariah they have their own law which is known as NARKH. They follow their Narkh and one which not follow the Narkh he is rusticated from his village by elders. Narkh is much contrary to Islamic Shariah and law of the land but Pushtun are not deviating from it because they consider it very humiliating to not follow it .Narkh is made by elders and notables of every tribe. All Pushtun tribe’s narkh are same only with little difference. Pushtun which claims that they are orthodox Muslim but in fact their customs and traditions are very much against Islam. Pushtun are by nature true Muslims, intelligent, honorable ,modest and hospitable people but they are kept in ignorance and war like situation deliberately from the very beginning they are not aware from the true Islamic Shariah but follow it on their own way and think that it is the best that what we are doing. If Pushtun are equipped with the education and enlighten moderation they will prove one of the progressive and enlightens nation of the world .But unfortunately the world didn’t care for it and remain them in this situation which prove very fatal . Pushtun are in majority in Afghanistan if their condition is improved they will play a big role in the development of their country but they are exploited and remain them in ignorance.
As it is clear that Pakhtun are very sensitive they quarrel with each other on a very small issues which lack importance and sometimes on a very big issues .From the very beginning Pakhtun always remain quarreling with each other that’s why Kalashnikov is necessarily lying on their shoulders but nowadays this trend has eliminated to much extent.
Mostly the disputes of Pakhtun are on land, woman property .These disputes mostly take place in families or with other tribe. In Pakhtun paternal cousins (TARBOR) are considered as enemy and in any way they want to get supremacy over them. Their elders and notables in the very beginning set some rules for the solutions of disputes which are still followed in Pakhtun for the resolutions of their conflicts.
